Welcome to the Team, Christea!

Winter was full of transition for the Chicago Studio Team, so welcoming Christea Parent into PCSA role at Chicago felt just like a fresh spring breeze!  

Christea's background and current practice are in performing arts.  She's an ensemble member of Hell in a Handbag Productions and produce, in addition to creating solo performance art.  She has a BFA in theatre from New York University and has traveled extensively throughout the US.

2017 Square Foot Show Recap

This year marked the North Shore studio's 6th Square Foot Show. The popular annual event featured over 130 pieces of work by artists from around the region, state, country and world. Mediums varied widely, from paintings to photographs to collage work and everything in between. Skill level ranged from novice/outsider artists to professional makers. The one thing the pieces all had in common was their size; submissions were required to measure 12 inches by 12 inches.

North Shore Studio Visits the Art Institute of Chicago

Thanks to the Art Institute hosting free days for Illinois residents, the North Shore studio was able to take a field trip on Monday February 13th. It is rare that we are able to see such great works of art in person and our excursion was an amazing time for all who attended. Explore some of the highlights of our trip in the gallery below!
