2014 North Shore Volunteer Awards

Last month The Arts of Life North Shore studio hosted its first Volunteer Awards Week to honor volunteers who are positively impacting our community. Each volunteer received an award created and signed by North Shore artists. When the awards were presented, community members took turns speaking about why each recipient is important to the studio and the skills they have to offer.  North Shore artist Russell Copenharve was quick to thank each volunteer for their contributions, “They do a wonderful job. They help us with painting and drawing. Mixing all different colors. We do art talk together too.” When asked about her experience with volunteers at the studio, artist Rebecca Turner excitedly added, “Volunteers are really fun. They help me do art. We do our responsibility together and we go for walks.” Recent growth to the North Shore volunteer program has allowed for artists, such as Russell and Rebecca, to be provided with more focused arts facilitation as well as new opportunities for programming. Some of the activities that are currently being supported or managed by volunteers include, but are not limited to music, drama, photo group, art talk, and archiving. Without the support of volunteers many of these weekly activities wouldn’t exist.  [[{“fid”:”6539″,”view_mode”:”default”,”fields”:{“format”:”default”,”field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]”:”2014 North Shore Volunteer Awards Cindy and Pouya”,”field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]”:”Cindy and Pouya”},”type”:”media”,”attributes”:{“height”:366,”width”:652,”alt”:”2014 North Shore Volunteer Awards Cindy and Pouya”,”title”:”Cindy and Pouya”,”class”:”media-element file-default”}}]] That being said, a big thank you goes out to all our amazing volunteers for for their commitment to the community and all the work they do at the studio!
