Art Contest Sponsored by Oak Wealth Advisors
The folks at Oak Wealth Advisors are long-time supporters of The Arts of Life and some of our favorite people to work with. Their impeccable taste in art and inherent understand of The Arts of Life as an organization has made them a wonderful partner. We were very honored when they invited our studio to develop an image for their 2016 annual thank you card. And we got really excited when they suggested an art contest!
The rules were simple: any artist was welcome to create a piece of art with an oaky, fall feeling and submit it to the Oak Wealth team, which would choose the piece that best reflected their vision for their card. The winning artist would receive $200. In addition, Oak Wealth would donate $200 to the studio to thank all the participating artists for their hard work.
The artists at the North Shore studio got right to work, creating over 20 different images for Oak Wealth’s consideration. On August 15th, Oak Wealth generously brought lunch for everyone in the studio and announced the results of the art contest. They selected Laura Greenberg’s abstract watercolor, which captures the movement of a windy fall day in a warm autumnal color palette. If there were a soundtrack to the painting, it’d be the crunch of dry leaves underfoot. A select few folks knew about the announcement in advance and let Laura’s family in on the secret, so they were able to attend the luncheon and cheer her on as Mike Walther presented her with her prize.
In just a few months, Oak Wealth clients around our region will open their mail and find Laura’s image bringing tidings of gratitude from their financial advisors. We’re so thankful to partner with Oak Wealth to share Laura’s work and The Arts of Life message with an entirely new audience. It’s through partnerships like these that we’re able to realize our full potential as creative professionals. Many thanks to Mike Walther, Jan Gargula and Randi Gillespie of Oak Wealth Advisors for your continued commitment to our artists and their studio.
