Artwork at Bridgeport Coffeehouse Beverly
Bridgeport Coffeehouse in Beverly is currently showcasing the work of Guy Conners and Kelly Stone, two artists from the Chicago Arts of Life studio.
Guy helped install the work at the coffeeshop a few weeks ago, choosing which piece would be hung in each location.
Both artists focus on realistic imagery, with Stone utilizing primarily markers and colored pencils, and Conners preferring acrylic paint. Conners has an incredible talent for photorealism and is gifted with a keen sense of visual perception. Using photographs as reference, he paints with remarkable accuracy the places he has visited or objects that interest him. When viewed as a whole, his body of work paints a portrait of a highly driven and motivated artist who derives great joy in the world around him.
In his years at The Arts of Life, Kelly Stone has experimented with just about every medium available. Ever unfolding, his recent focus is more about the fundamental elements of shape, color, and visual texture than the subject matter itself. Often, the subject of most of his work is simply the choice of colors used. Stone is a fast worker, able to imagine an image and put it on paper with ease. The work on view by Stone has a wide range, from plants and animals to airplanes.
Bridgeport Coffeehouse in Beverly is located at 9135 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60643, and is open from 6am - 6pm daily. The collection of work will be on view for the next 3 months.
