We caught up with Bailey, one of our awesome summer interns this week! How did you get involved with the Arts of Life?I’m here in Chicago for the summer participating in something at my college called the Urban Leadership Internship Program. With that, I get to participate in professional experience and service, so I picked Arts of Life as my service component. I was looking to get involved in something where I could do something creative with other people and I happened to find Arts of Life on the Internet. I’m super glad I did! What is your background (School/practice)?I’m going to be a senior this year at Miami University in Ohio. I’m majoring in Interactive Media Studies and minoring in both Photography and Violin Performance. As far as art goes, photography is my specialty but I have backgrounds in 2D and 3D art as well. How Long have you been involved with the Arts of Life?I’ve been here since the beginning of June! What are some of your favorite aspects of volunteering at the Arts of Life?I love the fun and creative atmosphere and all the cool people there. I love how everyone there interacts with and helps one other like it’s a big family. My favorite part is making friends and having fun with everyone. It’s also cool to see how talented all the artists are and get to work with them. Who are some of the artists you have gotten close to at the Arts of Life during your time with us?I love everyone because they’re all so unique and awesome. I’ve spent a lot of time drawing with Walter, talking about how fierce wolves are with Jean, listening to Kris talk about wooden shoes, and watching Bill draw heavy metal guitars. What do you like to do outside of volunteering? I like to play violin, take photos, dance to Beyonce, look at cute animals, and eat Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked Ice Cream.
