We Love You, Pablo!

“I’m doing really good at my art work. Like I make professional art work, it’s really easy.”  Pablo A. has worked at The Arts of Life Chicago Studio since 2012.  Before that, he never thought much about art, but today he says “I like art, it makes me happy, in the beginning I didn’t know I could do it.”   Through his hard work, and willingness to try new things, Pablo has developed a rich practice that spans from cute, fuzzy animals to scary skeletons and zombies.  But no matter what his imagery is, Pablo imbues his scenes with humor and the sparkle of unique decorative elements like pom-poms, glitter, and aluminum foil. In his time at the Arts of Life, he’s investigated a number of media, including drawing, painting, printmaking and collage.  And when he’s not working on artwork, he’s always interested in getting involved or helping others.  Pablo has been an active member of weekly yoga, and helped lead Health Matters Programming.  He’s also represented the studio at local summer fairs, and in various exhibitions of his work. “I am proud and happy of myself, it’s like a big fiesta about art, a big party.”   We are so thankful for the cheerful, supportive and creative presence Pablo has brought to our collective over the past four years!  We hope that he’ll be able to continue to develop his artistic practice, at our studio or beyond and wish him the best of luck with everything!
