Catherine Norcott currently resides in Chicago. Her sporadic creative practice includes printmaking, works on paper, alternative process photography and other forms of mixed media artmaking. She received a BFA in Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston with minors in art history and psychology. After graduating, she spent several years in L’Arche communities in Alabama and Illinois. That was her first entrance into community, and it changed her life. During her time in Alabama, she coordinated a printmaking project and organized an exhibition of the finished work with the local Arts Council. Now at the Arts of Life, she is happy to engage both relationship-building and artistic expression as part of her role. As Studio Manager, she is primarily responsible for case management and self-advocacy programming, and has QIDP certification in Illinois. She hopes to help create more integrated spaces, both within the studio and across the state.
