Linda Larsen joined our studio in 2021. She has begun to assemble a body of work marked by lively drawings of animals with reimagined colors and patterns on their bodies. These works are imbued with a sense of whimsy that is balanced by a careful preservation of white space.

“I like looking at the different fish. For the plants, I used circles. I thought of a jellyfish and I like the little hint of blue I put on it. I like looking at an animal and looking at their eyes.” 

With a knack for taking liberties with realism, Larsen boldly experiments with new mediums successfully. Pattern is explored with organic shapes fitted together in a mosaic-like fashion. 

“It just makes me feel good. It’s something to do. It gives me time to myself. Every day I’m thinking of something I can try.”
