Carol Pyes jmoves adeptly across a variety of mediums—often mixing them to increase the depth and complexity of her artwork. With focus and dedication, her personal artistic style emerges through softly rendered hues within pared-down settings.

“It’s not all colored pencil; one is a chalk pastel pencil. It was an ok combination.”

Her artwork is imbued with a light-hearted approach to the subject matter and often features loved ones or their pets. Pyes carefully considers her process throughout with methodical attention to detail.

“I take my time. I enjoy it. I’m slow which is good because I take my time instead of rushing through it. When I take my time I know I just enjoy it so I’ll be better at it.”
