Jack O’Sullivan joined the Arts of Life in 2014. A skillful maker, he renders representational works with equal parts accuracy and singularity. He wades through fantasy as he works, recalling movies and books he has engaged with. This is revealed through emergent themes of science fiction fantasy and foreign locales.
“Thinking my reality. Movie. Books. I could possibly imagine. I try to think and relax. I’ve been thinking all my work. I’ve been excited my work of drawings and painting. Thinking from my ideas.
O’Sullivan works adeptly across mediums and skillfully adapts his approach based on the materials he’s chosen. He works in a quietly, fully absorbed in the process. Upon emergence, he revels in the pleasure of seeing the visions in his mind realized on canvas.
“To make picture. Thinking. To make lines. It’s the energy. It’s life force energy. It’s a fascinate technology way beyond our own. I remember to see my project of this wonder.”
In June of 2018, O’Sullivan was named “Artist of the Year” at our North Shore studio.
