About
Saemee Kim was born in 1994 and joined the Arts of Life in 2016. She is an artist that thrives on precision and accuracy. Her perfectionist aesthetic yields work that is crisp, balanced and clean.
“I love art. It calms me down. Drawing. Painting. Photo. I calm down.”
When drawing, Kim works methodically, first preparing lists of subject matter, then rendering her subjects with pointed focus and care. Though, despite her regimented process, Kim is quick to explain that art stems not from the head, but rather the heart.
“Many, many, many drawings. I’ve done hundreds of drawings on paper. I like hard work.”
Kim finds artistic inspiration from books and stories. Her recent series of world flags was inspired by the 2016 Summer Olympics.
