Welcome to the Team, Christea!

Winter was full of transition for the Chicago Studio Team, so welcoming Christea Parent into PCSA role at Chicago felt just like a fresh spring breeze!  Christea’s background and current practice are in performing arts.  She’s an ensemble member of Hell in a Handbag Productions and produce, in addition to creating solo performance art.  She has a BFA in theatre from New York University and has traveled extensively throughout the US.When asked about what drew her to our collective, Christea said: I was looking for a job opportunity that could combine my love for the arts with my passion for the disability community – Arts of Life was a perfect fit![[{“fid”:”11556″,”view_mode”:”default”,”fields”:{“format”:”default”,”field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]”:”Christea and Linda doing Yoga, stretching legs”,”field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]”:”Christea and Linda doing Yoga”},”type”:”media”,”attributes”:{“alt”:”Christea and Linda doing Yoga, stretching legs”,”title”:”Christea and Linda doing Yoga”,”height”:366,”width”:652,”class”:”media-element file-default”},”link_text”:null}]]She offers a variety of general supports throughout busy days of making, and is a natural in our space!  We caught up with her during yoga this week.  Linda, a long term artist at the studio, gave her seal of approval.  “She’s a nice girl.  I like her!”So far, her favorite part of the studio has been our festive birthday celebrations.  “In March, we had a dance party that turned into a conga line – the whole studio joined in!”To echo Linda, we are glad to have Christea on our team!
