North Shore Spotlight: Andrea Freeman

Andrea Freeman joined the North Shore studio in January of this year-only a month ago! She works with artist, Laura Greenberg, as her 1:1 assistant on Mondays and Wednesdays. Thus far, she has shown to be gentle in her approach to facilitation; she has a calm demeanor and is attentive to the emotions of others.  Andrea is polite and amicable and we look forward to getting to know her better.

 

North Shore artists, Carol Pyes and Nikole Heusman, sat with Andrea to learn more about her:

 

Nikole Heusman (NH): How did you hear about Arts of Life?

Andrea Freeman (AF): Through the Chicago Artist Resource Website.

 

NH: What type of work do you like to do here?

AF: I like working as a 1:1-I like working with Laura. I also like when people ask me different questions-that’s also good.

 

NH: Are you an artist, and if so, what type of art do you do?

AF: Yeah, I’m an artist. I do digital art.

Carol Pyes (CP): What is digital art?

AF: It is any kind of art that you would do on the computer; I usually use Adobe Illustrator and then Adobe Photoshop-things like that.

 

NH: Do you have a favorite artist?

AF: YES, I do. Michelle Basquiat.

CP: What kind of art do they do?

AF: Jean Michelle Basquiat was a graffiti artist in New York and he did a lot of really cool stuff-it just inspires me.

 

NH: What do you like most about Arts of Life?

AF: I like the people, the artists-that everyone’s really friendly and open.

 

NH: What do you do when you are not at Arts of Life?

AF: I’m usually scheming and trying to figure out a way to go somewhere overseas?

CP: Where?

AF: Well, I went to Korea and that was the best experience of my life. I’d like to go other places-like maybe Italy-you know different parts of Europe-and Japan definitely.
