About
Hubert was born in 1964 in Chicago, IL. A lifelong resident of Chicagoland, Hubey joined the Arts of Life studio in 2012.
Hubert utilizes his art-making process as a tool for connection and communication. He can often be found laughing as he paints, opening himself up to the world around him and to the community of the studio. Hubert enjoys collaborative work and will invite volunteers to work alongside him, trading one brush stroke for another. Hubert’s process is so intrinsically linked with his own personal exploration that his progress is a beautiful thing to observe.
“I am an abstract artist. When I see other abstract art I say, “Look at that!” and point because it looks like mine.”
Hubert’s work was featured at the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art’s exhibition A is for Artist in 2017.
