About
Susie was an important member of the Arts of Life community from 2018 until her passing in 2020. She will be remembered for the joyous expression of her heart as manifested into her artwork.
Susie amassed a large body of work during her time at Arts of Life. Distinctive was her use of colored pencil applied gently and her use of sunny hues that hint at the warm feelings behind her imagery. Susie was inspired by familial connections and happy memories.
“I have a lot of fun on my drawing. I draw my father before. I drew my mom in-between. Me and my mother always love rainbows. And family tree. I put a tree there.”
The line work in Susie’s drawings are simple and clean. The continuous lines appear deceivingly effortless as they define shapes and unite forms within her compositions.
“I’m the best artist in the world. I like to draw things. It makes me feel happy joy. It feels calm. It feels happy all around me.”
