About The Event
North Shore Studio Artist Carol Pyes will lead this workshop celebrating creative reuse with cyanotypes. Cyanotype is a chemical process that harnesses the power of the sun to create prints. Objects such as beads, leaves, flowers, and letters can be placed on top of the fabric during exposure to create images that appear white on a blue background. Cyanotypes create a beautiful contrast between the deep blue of the cyanotype chemicals. Participants will be encouraged to explore the theme of Creative Reuse by upcycling used fabric, and creating Iron-on or sew-on patches to apply to items such as stained t-shirts
