3rd Annual Square Foot Show

Circle Contemporary North Shore
March 28, 2014

The 3rd Annual Square Foot Show is an art exhibition hosted and curated by The Arts of Life. This exhibition is aimed at celebrating and showcasing not only the talents of the community at The Arts of Life studios but the greater artistic community, as well.

The Square Foot Show gives artists at the studio a unique opportunity to engage and build relationships with other artists who are also trying to make it in the world of art. This exhibition will feature artwork from each of the artists at the North Shore studio, along with pieces from many other artists from around the country. All types of art, from watercolor to photography to ceramics, will be exhibited, restricted only by the dimensions of the artwork; one square foot.

Andrew Sloan is an artist at the North Shore studio who has exhibited art in the show the previous two years. “I really like it [the Square Foot Show] because it’s interesting to share my ideas of my artwork, explain how I put my thoughts into it, and listen to other people explain their artwork.  It opens me up and helps me envision other ideas,” he says.

Last year’s Square Foot Show had over 100 submissions, with contributions from all over the United States and even Colombia, a significant increase from the inaugural show.  An even greater number of submissions is expected this year.  All artists are welcome to submit their work by March 18th, 2014 at 3pm.

Sponsored by Viccino’s Pizza, the opening reception will take place at The Arts of Life’s North Shore studio located at 1963 Johns Drive, Glenview, IL 60025 on Friday, March 28 at 6:00pm. This event is free and open to the public.
