Field Trip Report: “A Flea in Her Ear”
On April 27th, 2017, the artists from the North Shore studio paid a visit to Niles North High School for their spring theatrical “A Flea in Her Ear.” Two of our 2016 Summer Youth Employees, Rachel Kaufman and Katie Yau, were involved in the performance and thoughtfully invited us to a free matinee. We’re always looking for opportunities to get out of the studio to experience art in the world, so we were happy to accept their invitation!

The turn-of-the-century farce was full of energy, and we enjoyed the slapstick humor brought to life by the student actors. Playwright Georges Feydeau’s delightfully crazy characters highlighted the silliness of romance, love, and sex. Rachel played the lead female role of Raymonde, while Katie was busy backstage as Costume Mistress. “Ah – that play was just wonderful!” said artist Ed Rawski. “It was a nice school. I enjoyed the big set and scenery.”
