North Shore Volunteer Spotlight: Katie Davis
Katie Davis volunteered with Arts of Life this summer. She is a soon-to-be-sophomore at Carthage College with an interest in both art therapy and art education. In addition to having volunteered three times a week, Katie also works in a photography studio, sails, and often vacations with friends and family.
During her time at the North Shore studio, Davis shared her creative process and mixed media expertise with artists via portfolio sharing and daily art facilitation. She quickly became an appreciated member of our community as a result of her involvement in and out of the studio. Katie helped lead morning meditations, assisted newer volunteers with activities, and worked with us recently at the Glenview Art League Summer Art Fair. Katie’s easy-going nature made it easy for everyone to connect with her.
“Katie is a nice facilitator. I had to do some artwork with her remember? I sat down and was looking through some magazines and there she was. She worked with us for a long time. If she wanted to come back and see us again I might have to give her an award next time she comes.” -Ed Rawski
“A good helper. Good artist.” – Oly Trindl
“Katie is beautiful and smart. A great addition to our family.” -David Jonaitis
“She’s nice.”- Jack O’Sullivan
“A good human!”- Everyone’s opinion
