Odyssey Festival at Stevenson High School

On February 4th, Brian Reed put his teaching skills to the test at Stevenson High School’s Odyssey Festival! This endeavor supports Arts of Life’s artist enterprise program where Reed is honing his skills as an art educator.

Reed designed a lecture and hands-on project for a collage workshop and delivered his lesson to 25 students. His lesson covered collage techniques, relevant elements and principles of design as well as visual examples from his personal artistic practice.

When asked why his role as an educator is important Reed replied “Because I’m teaching the kids. They’re learning about new things so they can be very successful. I was happy because I like the kids.”
