Welcome Chelsea Yang, our new marketing team member!

Thanks to the support of The Chicago Community Trust’s SMART Growth Grant, The Arts of Life is excited to bring Chelsea Yang on to our team as our Marketing Intern.  Chelsea will play an integral role in increasing our public/media relations efforts and showcase The Arts of Life to new media markets. Her expertise will also support our growing website needs and we are looking forward to sharing a new, polished, website with our community in the near future! Founded in 1915, The Chicago Community Trust is a community foundation dedicated to improving the Chicagoland region through strategic grant making, civic engagement and inspiring philanthropy. With Chicago Community Trust’s vision and Chelsea’s expertise, The Arts of Life is determined to increase its reach and reputation in the future.After establishing a career as a business development professional in the high tech industry, Chelsea Yang chose to return to her studies. Her deep love of tech and its media applications lead her to enroll at DePaul University to pursue a Masters in Cinema Production. In addition to her studies, Chelsea started volunteering at The Arts of Life North Shore Studio since April 2015. While volunteering, she fell in love with the community and wanted to do more.In 2015, the North Shore Studio’s band Van Go Go recorded and published their first album. Chelsea followed them for 8 months, filming a documentary about the band and their story. This documentary, entitled Van Go Go, was awarded the Vincentian Prize at DePaul’s 11th Premiere Film Festival. Chelsea and several band members attended the ceremony and accepted the award together on June 3rd, 2016 at the Music Box Theater.  Chelsea says, “As a Digital Media professional, I’m very proud to see that my skills and efforts of helping the people with I/DD got recognized. It encourages me to be more creative while exploring new marketing approaches for The Arts of Life.”
