In Good Company

Arts of Life recently celebrated the opening of a landmark public exhibition, In Good Company at the Chicago Cultural Center. The exhibition is on view through April 7, 2019.

This exhibition highlights the mutually beneficial relationships and connections that develop within the Arts of Life studios. In Good Company features art by seven Arts of Life studio artists and four community volunteers, including work that has been developed both independently and collaboratively. The ongoing collaborations between studio artists and community volunteers is fundamental to the success of both the individual practices of the artists, and the overall health of our art studios. This exhibition showcases the ways in which these partnerships develop and thrive around a person-centric model.

In Good Company includes a wide variety of 2D and 3D artwork encompassing a wide variety of styles, from representational to abstract. The exhibition is structured around a central interactive mural, but allows each featured artist or pair of artists the opportunity to professionally exhibit a healthy body of work while calling attention to the individual(s) behind each piece.

Supported by a grant from DCASE, In Good Company has been nearly a year in the making. The opportunity to exhibit at the Chicago Cultural Center, one of the most visited attractions in Chicago that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, brings great unparalleled visibility to the featured artists and Arts of Life as a whole. We hope to see you there.
