Help Us Build Community This Winter
Together, we have the opportunity to grow our wonderful community.
the importance of art and the transformative nature of the creative practice. When asked why he joined the Chicago Studio, Artist Rocco DiCaro said it best:
“To meet more artists who have the same goal as I do, to make art and be creative.”
The growing loneliness epidemic nationwide is not a surprise to us. Disability research has long shown that disabled people experience low perceived social support and social isolation at significantly higher rates than people without a disability. Arts of Life’s founding core values prioritize Building Community. We know that a truly thriving community comes from shared interests and working toward a common goal.
Your continued belief in our artists propels our innovative model. This year, with your leadership, our community will support more artists than ever before to build meaningful connections and assert their place in the contemporary art world.
“It’s been wonderful. I’m hoping that people will look at that artwork and it will make them happy, make them smile. Hopefully, they want to see more of the characters because I like making these characters and want people to see them.” -Rocco DiCaro
This is just the beginning. In the coming year, we will invest in our gallery staff to bring our artists’ work to an ever-expanding audience. We will expand our programming staff to meet the growing enrollment needs at our studios and new in-home services. And we will launch programming on Chicago’s South Side.
To make this possible, we need to raise $140,000 by the end of the year. We can reach that goal with your help. With your generous donation, we can give more artists a sense of belonging and connection in 2024.
To help us get there, we have several exciting opportunities.
