Peer Fundraise and Get a Prize

We are excited to announce our refreshed Peer Fundraiser Prize Program!

Our wonderful peer fundraiser hosts raised 28% more during our winter campaign compared to last year! We so appreciate each and every person who took the time to share their excitement about our artists to their networks via Facebook, Instagram, and email.

But why limit the celebrations and prizes to just our bi-annual campaigns? Celebrations happen every day of the year. So starting this year, you can honor someone or something special, or celebrate your birthday or anniversary by fundraising for Arts of Life at any point in the year and receive a limited edition prize!

With just a few easy steps, you will qualify for a free print, guaranteed. Read on for the prize requirements and peer fundraising tips, or go to our full Instructions/Materials Document for all this plus step-by-step instructions for each fundraising platform, and sample text/photos you can use.

5 Peer Fundraisers with their chosen print prizes

Limited Edition Fine Art Print Prize Requirements

If you do these 5 things, you can get a free fine art print!

  • Include your name in your fundraiser title.
  • Include a few sentences about why you are fundraising, with your chosen language. Personal notes are preferred, but you can also copy/paste from the Text Examples section. Facebook fundraisers should not include the auto-generated default text.
  • Set a fundraiser goal of at least $250, even if you don’t raise $250.
  • Share your fundraiser at least twice. Sharing can include social media posts, stories, a round of Facebook invitations, a round of emails and/or text messages.
  • Complete a brief (2-minute) online survey after your fundraiser ends.

Tips

  • Don’t let fundraising intimidate you. People aren’t offended by being asked to support artists with disabilities, even if they can’t or don’t want to give. There are people who want to support good causes but aren’t connected to them and people who care about you and will be inspired by your passion. But don’t just take our word for it. Here are some quotes from our past peer fundraisers:
    • “It was super easy! I felt kind of awkward about asking for money on my social media, but I was really surprised by how many people donated, shared, and generally reacted positively. Also my mom reshared the fundraiser, which led to a bunch more donations!”
    • “It’s a great way to increase your impact more than you can personally give, and support a cause you love.”
    • “This is a great way to share your enthusiasm for an organization and solicit more support. It is easy, fast and fun!”
  • Tie your fundraiser to a specific occasion to help motivate people to give with added personal significance. Consider hosting a fundraiser as a way to celebrate your birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc., connect it to a holiday, honor someone important to you, or join one of our fundraising campaigns (Winter: November-December, Summer: May-June, or dedicated days like Giving Tuesday).
  • Include a personal note about your connection to or passion for Arts of Life. Peer fundraisers often reach people who have not previously given to Arts of Life, and they are motivated most by their connection to you, not the organization.
  • Share your fundraiser multiple times. People often need to see a fundraiser several times before deciding to give. Providing updates (We’re halfway to my goal! Will you help me reach the finish line?) or thanking donors (Wow, we just passed $100! Thanks to all who donated so far! There’s still time to give!) are good times to re-share.
  • If you meet your initial goal early, increase it!
  • Encourage your friends and family to share your fundraiser!
  • Donate (as low as $10) to your fundraiser to build momentum and show commitment!

Thank you for your interest in hosting a fundraiser! Please contact Joshua With at jwith@artsoflife.org if you have any questions.
